Climate change and environmental breakdown pose severe threats to our planet – and the damage will go far beyond losing our beloved powder days. It will impact our way of life, economy, food supply, and drinking water. Extreme weather events, droughts, and resource conflicts already endanger millions globally.
That's where Protect Our Winters (POW) comes in. This coalition is the leading voice for climate action within the outdoor community. Operating across the USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, and 10 European countries, POW is driving cultural change, progressive policies, and sustainability practices to preserve the places we love for snowboarding, skiing, hiking, and more. |

| How POW works |
|
POW makes use of 3 main pillars of action:
- Educate: Knowledge is the first step in taking action. From classrooms to boardrooms, POW is there to make sure everyone has the knowledge they need to make a difference.
- Collaborate: POW builds alliances with NGOs, scientists, athletes, and you, the action sports lovers to create positive change and achieve impact both within the outdoor sports world and beyond.
- Advocate: Real action on climate change is political action. POW takes the voice of the outdoor community to the parliaments, to Brussels and Washington. |

| How can I get involved? |
|
That’s easy: VOTE! Your next chance to make an impact are the EU Elections from the 6th to the 9th of June 2024. POW has launched a dedicated campaign, calling on politicians to progress and adopt policies that prioritise climate and environment. You can find out more about this on their campaign website and their Instagram channel, including when and how to vote.
So whatever you do in June, remember to Ride, Bike, or Climb, then VOTE! |
