Seventy years ago, Willi Fehlbaum – the founder of Vitra – travelled to New York, where he came across an Eames chair. This marked the beginning of the story of Charles and Ray Eames and Vitra.

Head of the Eames Office and one of the five grandchildren of Charles and Ray Eames, he will be talking to us about the life and work of his grandparents.
As executive director of the foundation established to preserve and protect the Eames House in Los Angeles, Charles and Ray’s granddaughter will provide an exclusive glimpse inside the couple’s celebrated home.
Son of Vitra founder Willy Fehlbaum and later CEO of the company himself, he came to know Charles and Ray well. He will be giving us a tour of the Eames Collection at the Vitra Design Museum.
He will be explaining how Vitra develops and cares for its classics portfolio to ensure that it continually captures the current zeitgeist.
