As part of Milan Design Week, we present Rooms for Stories: From Seat to Seed, an installation at our Milan store exploring the origin of one of our most recognisable pieces: the Jan armchair.
Developed by Sara Ricciardi Studio, the installation accompanies the launch of a special edition of the Jan, reinterpreted using a plant-based material that contains persimmon, created alongside a local partner in Valencia. This material is obtained from surplus persimmon in the Valencian Community, on the Mediterranean coast, connecting the piece to the territory it comes from and placing its origin at the heart of the armchair’s creation.
Rooms for Stories: From Seat to Seed offers a journey in reverse, from the finished armchair to its origin, revealing the process, the materials and the people who shape the piece.
