Another month, another edition of Oily Rag - our somewhat indulgent opportunity to reflect on the month that has been.

The sartorially inclined lines between motorsport, craftsmanship, and style continue to blur, custom motorcycle builds wheel their way out of our Sydney workshop to LA and we’re settling into a new pace for what’s to come over the coming months.

If you hear a resounding few deep breaths in, deep breaths out… that’s our team. The months ahead are packed with movement—new drops, new rides, and a few surprises that are anything but… well, idle.

Some might surmise that when the worlds of fashion and motorsport collide the style crowd isn’t usually top of mind. We, of course, beg to differ.

With our own deep-rooted enthusiasm for the racing world and the vibrant community that surrounds it, we felt it only natural to team up with the legendary Tour Auto to celebrate the rich history of this iconic race with a limited-edition capsule collection. What came to pass? A couple of jackets, a tee, cap and beanie that made motorsport dreams come true… even for those in our team who partook from the sidelines.

The glorious five-day sprint from Paris to Nice has run, leaving the roads to fall quiet and only a trail of tire marks as evidence of the week gone by. He had barely been on the planet a decade when a young Fred North took in the sights of a helicopter landing at Saint Louis, Senegal. Fast forward to today, and with over 200 films to his name, North has become one of the world's most renowned helicopter stuntmen.

His credits include blockbuster titles like Transformers, James Bond: Spectre, Mission Impossible, and Fast & Furious. Recently, Jeremy Tagand, Head of Workshop in Sydney, sat down to chat with North about his customised Deus Ex Machina XT500, the importance of character when it comes to motorcycle selection and why a shared vision proves to be the perfect ingredient for a build across continents.

Known by those who know vinyl, Takayoshi Murota or ‘DJ MURO’ is a legendary Japanese DJ, recording artist and record producer, and is considered a cultural expert on anything vinyl related - earning him the title ‘The King of Diggin’. Marked with events across Sydney and Melbourne, DJ Muro returned to Australia to celebrate the occasion.
