The history of this famous weapon began to be written at the Heckler & Koch company around 1964.
Already two years later (1966), the first pieces of the modern MP5 submachine gun from series production are officially presented. These are intended for the border guard of the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) and for police units. However, the real "boom" was yet to come. In the 70s of the 20th century, with the increase in terrorist activities in Europe, but also around the world, special units of the police and the army began to look for a modern and reliable submachine gun. And that's exactly what they found in the weapon of the Heckler & Koch company, the MP5 model.
